Leve België

Lyrics of Leve België

I chose this song because I like it a lot and because it says lovely things about being all together. However, It’s little bit too nationalist. I really like this song and it is one of my favourite songs that are not in English, Spanish or French. Well there are bits in French but they are really short. The song is in Flemish and speaks about Belgium, a little country between France and Netherlands.

Wij delen dezelfde passie, wij leven dezelfde droom

Long Live Belgium – By Clauseau

Today, if you can spare a moment, I will decide about north and south.
Today I'll raise the flag, in a hurry because the train is derailing between south and north.
We have a beautiful past, even when we speak a different language.
We share the most beautiful country and in our heart it is just one story.
We are all the same, because we are all Belgians.
Yes, I love you, our secret is Flemish and Walloons in the same country.
In this small country, our Belgianland, Flemish and Walloons stand on the same side.
For sure this can't disappear,I love Belgium.
Today we stand side to side and take the differences on the side [= as a side-dish]
Today the unity stands strong, we are united, that is not retarded.
We share the same passion, we live the same dream.
I think the Lion of Flanders and the Rooster of Wallonia stand stronger together.
We are all the same because we are all Belgians.
Yes, I love you, our secret is Flemish and Walloons in the same country.
In this small country, our Belgianland, Flemish and Walloons stand on the same side.
For sure this can't dissapear for I love Belgium.
Oh, long live Belgium!.
Oh, oh, owowowo
We are all the same because we are all Belgians
Yes, I love you, our secret is Flemish and Walloons in the same country
In this small country, our Belgianland, Flemish and Walloons stand on the same side
For sure this can't disappear,I love Belgium
So, give me our little country: Belgium!

The words that are like this is because is French, the rest is in Flemish.

If you don’t understand it is probably you don’t know that in Belgium it is really REALLY different the North from the South. In the South they are like one district more of France, whereas on the North they are more like the Netherlands. The difference is huge and some people want to split Belgium in two.

Essay: The Fickle Nature of Music

If one was to stand in the middle of the street and ask passers-by what irritated most about other generations, the answer would most probably be based on the music they listen to. An adult would complain about the deafening beat of adolescents’ artless melodies, the fact that the words lack all meaning and that they would never call that kind of good-for-nothing racket art. A teenager, on the other hand, would argue that the music that they listen to is, in fact, worth hearing, and that it doesn’t have poetic lyrics should hardly be an obstacle to enjoying it.
Yet, if one was to judge the controversial topic of whether different types of music are worth listening to solely as a manifestation of the constant disagreement between adolescents and adults, one would be misunderstanding the very essence of both art and society, as well as the interaction that exists between the two.
In fact, if the behaviour of each generation were labelled by the music they listen to, we would have completely drastic changes from music styles of one decade to the next, a sort of stratification of melodies totally different from one another. Yet, that is not what we find; through the ages there are listeners of all ages who share similar tastes in music. Truth to tell, our musical preferences do not at all depend on our age, or when we were born. Each person holds different tastes because the music that one likes is usually determined by one’s personality and experiences.
Of course, it holds true that there are unmistakable patterns in the music of each generation, and that there must be a uniform criterion that makes a certain type of music succeed at a certain time. Nowadays, for example, most young people prefer dance, house, or electronic music to opera, folk or metal. And then comes classical music at the end of the list—usually portrayed as a lingering anachronism in today’s high-tech society.
Even so, the assumption that Mozart, Verdi, or Bach were composers whose music is not apt for the present is in fact a false supposition. There are many people who enjoy listening to either classical music or opera to relax, or to enjoy the splendour of an orchestra. After a moment of thought, this seems apparent, because if people didn’t appreciate the beauty of these classical harmonies, why would anyone play in an orchestra? And who would go to chamber music concerts?
Likewise, the same assumption is made from music not only from previous centuries (such as Beethoven or Haydn), but also from previous decades. This is where our judgement in music fails again—first by thinking that each generation listens to their own music, and secondly by thinking that we should ignore music from previous or following generations. There are young people that enjoy the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Jimmy Hendrix or ABBA. There are middle-aged listeners eager to hear the latest songs by David Guetta or Rihanna.
Ultimately, music is not a question of age—be it of the song, artist or listener. Music is about the message, the melody and the meaning. And overall, what it makes us, the listeners, think about, and feel. And this is where the controversy lies, in whether a certain type of music is art or not, if it has a message or not, not whether it should be praised or discarded because of its copyright date. To truly solve this debate, however, one must realize that art is a subjective matter, and that music is also of this same fickle nature, thus comprehending that no one is fit to judge and attack music, only to enjoy it.

Lyrics of Disco Pogo

Lyrics – Disco Pogo by Die Atzen Frauenarzt and Manny Marc (German/English)

I chose this song because this is one of my favourite songs in another language, also because I can´t stop listening to it and I wanted to share it with the rest. This song is about the experience of parties you or other people have in the disco.

Was ist los?
Es ist Party angesagt!

Die Saison ist eröffnet,
Es ist ein wahres Spektakel,
Denn alle komm'n weil es abgeht.
Das ist 'ne riesengroße Party.

Reißt die Arme in den Himmel
Und schwenkt sie über den Kopf.
Mann, wir sind erst am Ziel,
Wenn der Schweiß von der Decke tropft.

Die Wände schwitzen, alle springen,
Alles was wir lieben!

Disco Pogo...

Dis-Co-Po-Go, dingelingeling, dingelingeling.
Alle Atzen sing'n
Dis-Co-Po-Go, dingelingeling, dingelingeling.
Alle Atzen sing'n

Die Masse rockt,
Wir sind bekloppt.
Wir pogen, don't stop the rock.
Wir baden in der Me-Me-Menge,
Darauf hab
ich Bock!

Voll normal verfeiern mit.
Ich fass mir auch mal in den Schritt.
Breakdance, oder Atzentanz,
Wir tanzen heut' den Pogohit!

Disco Pogo, Atzenlogo.
Atzenstyle ist Disco Pogo!
Atzen rasten nicht am Tag,
Feiern mit dem Atzenlogo.
Schubsen, drücken, hüpfen, springen,
Raufen, saufen, tanzen, pogen!

Atzenparty dingeling.
Atzenparty dingeling.
Atzenparty dingeling.
Atzenparty dingeling.
Disco Pogo unser ding!
Disco Pogo unser Ding!
Pogen (repeat. 30x)
Di-Di-Di-Di-Di-Di-Di-Disco Pogooo...

Dis-Co-Po-Go, dingelingeling, dingelingeling.
Alle Atzen sing'n
Dis-Co-Po-Go, dingelingeling, dingelingeling.
Alle Atzen sing'n

English Version

What's up?!
It's partytime!

Time to make party
It's a real spactacle
B/O everybody's there in a quite good mood
this is a real big party

Put your hands up in the air
And stretch them over your head
Man, we've first achieved your aim
When the sweat drops off the ceiling
The walls sweat, everbody's drinking,
Everything we love,
We don't renounce to party
Like an insane bunch
We tussle, Atzen let's rock
The bourgeois are shocked
And pack up their things

We don't kid ourselves
We're dancing and we're romping
Put your hands up
And let us disco pogen!!

Dis-Co-Po-Go, dingelingeling, dingelingeling.
Every Atze is singing
Dis-Co-Po-Go, Dingalingaling Dingalingaling
Every Atze is singing

The people rock
We're daft
We "pogen", Dr.Rock shocks us
We're bathing in the cr-cr-crowd
That's what I like
Completely normal, we're reveling
I even sometimes grab my *censored*
Breakdance or Atzendance
Today, we're dancing to the Pogo Hit!
Disco Pogo , Atzen emblem
Atzenstyle is Disco Pogo!
Atzen don't rest in the daytime
They are celebrating with the Atzen emblem
Hustling, spinning, jumping, bouncing, tussling, boozing, dancing, pogen..

COLDPLAY

It all started when Chris Martin and Johnny Buckland met at the University College London in 1996. Guy Berryman and Will Champion joined the pair after two years and a new alternative rock band was born, they named themselves Coldplay.

If you let yourself be taken back into the band’s early days by listening to their first public release “Safety”, you can find a stripped down song called “Bigger stronger” which is a clear example of the compositional flair that their singles feature. I would say it’s a kind of moving and inspiring song that could help you to unwind for a while.

An insight into Coldplay´s fifth and latest album “Mylo Xyloto” shows us a particular melodic song called “Paradise” which clearly stands out from the others and hooks you when you first listen to it.

Their melodies, their voices and their talent to compose music that nobody else could create, are to my mind, what makes people want to listen to it again and again.

Rebecca Black, Friday.

Rebecca Black, Friday.

March 14th of 2011: some people know that is the national day of Italy, but most people remember that day instead as the birth of the song ``Friday´´; it´s also known as the apocalypse of the Internet. It was born in
the USA, its parents are Clarence Jey and
Patrice Wilson and the doctor that helped
it to live it was Rebecca Black.
The reason for its creation was simple, the
politicians wanted to take the attention from
themselves, so they needed something to
entertain people. Someone shouted
``thank goodness that tomorrow is Friday´´, so
they decided to destroy that day, the best day
of the week... With a song.

The main lyrics are about a girl that is very
tired of all the week. So magically, in 8 seconds arrives Friday from nowhere. Then she is super-happy just as if she had an attack of adrenalin and goes to every party of the city –give me a second for a question, are just the people that appear in the videoclip the population of the city?- and nobody knows what happens after Friday. Some people say that maybe politicals will make another song about Saturday to entertain people and forget their problems, but some people are so lazy that they thought after the song her favourite day of the week is Monday, just like everyone that appears in the video.

``Oh, this is the best song in the universe!! They should give her a oscar for her song!´´
Quoted words from a fangirl of Rebecca Black. My opinion is that it´s the worst song in the world, and if your intention was to create the next world war, you already did it!! The figthers are you and Justin Bieber... versus all the world!!

Seriously!! Why don´t you shut up and wait for Friday quietly?? Since when can teenagers of 13 years old drive a car?? They should arrest you for being under 18 years old and making the best day of the week to the worst!! Do you know that normal people go to school on the bus and do exams? They don´t skip school only for a stupid party! And if all the problems are because you don´t know where to sit, remember you that you have eyes and a brain, or did you lose it? You can sit perfectly where there´s enough space! You know another thing? After Sunday... Comes Monday...
The last thing... If you are always saying `` Lookin' forward to the weekend´´, I think you should move to Weekendland! There´re still people that are feeling the virus of ``Fridayache´´, the symptoms are waiting for Friday every week and not knowing where to sit. The places where they are seen most are in the USA, UK, Japan and Spain; the worst thing of it... that... I love Friday, and I can´t stop listening to it, the fangirls of Rebbeca made me already crazy! So don´t let her invade you and give you Fridayache!!!

P.S.: Challenge for the most valiant, let´s see if you can LISTEN TO THE FULL VERSION:

We found love, Rihanna

Rihanna has a dazzling singing flair. It can be sugar sweet in one song, groovy and wit in another. It is her unmistakable voice that makes her songs not only acclaimed, but also chart-conquering.

Featuring confessional lyrics and singing in a unique blend of hip hop and soul, makes her tunes so danceable. Moreover, when she appears on a stage at her concerts the atmosphere changes from lethargic to electric as if people are pulled by a mysterious force. What’s more, her albums are full of traces of many musical influences that contribute to aggressive dance tunes and make them sound refreshingly new and different. On top of that, what people really like about Rihanna’s music are the smoky ballads, which she showcases with a vocal talent.
In Rihanna´s song We found love, she belts out her personal views on life, relationships and romance with a fiery passion. When she sings that song in her concerts the crowd goes wild and sings along enthusiastically.  Usually, her shows end with deafening applause and chanting from fans demanding an encore. However, Rihanna knows well enough how to leave them thinking about her poignant lyrics.
So if you have not got this moving album, drive on down to the record shop and buy it now.
