Air Revolution. Efficiency for the future?

Air revolution. Efficiency for the future?

The issue of whether more windmills should be installed in the countryside has been widely debated in our community recently. Personally, I think there are some good points but also a few drawbacks about this.

On the one hand, windmills are an environmentally-friendly way of producing energy. Due to the fact that they do not produce any greenhouse gases, they do not pollute the atmosphere. Moreover, wind-power is a renewable resource. That is why future generations would be able to use it as it does not run out, whereas primary resources, such as coal and petrol are likely to be consumed.

On the other hand, some people in our city, San Sebastian, do not like them. This is because they think they spoil the view in the countryside which, in their opinion, is just perfect without any human activity. As for the efficiency of windmills, it is a disadvantage since they do not produce as much energy as burning fossil fuels due to the fact that they depend on the wind.  Even though all this is true, in my opinion, it is not powerful enough to deny the evidence that a sustainable way of producing energy is essential in our society. In other words, it is better to have a world with a little spoiled countryside than not having anything at all.

To sum up, there is no doubt in my mind that windmills should be spread worldwide as they will bring us efficiency for the future.
