Señor Raúl

Raúl, a name that when pronounced reminds of majestic football. Raúl González Blanco, Madrid’s best striker in history and now Shalke 04’s amulet for scoring goals.

He is remembered for his hardworking way of playing and his insatiable hunger in front of goal.

Amongst his major achievements, he has won 3 champions league titles, being the best striker in this competition’s history with 75 goals. In addition, he has been Madrid’s key to win 6 Spanish leagues and currently is helping Shalke 04 to qualify for next year’s champion’s league.

He has just announced that he is leaving Germany in order to play at the Al-Ahly, a Qatari team. The reasons why he’s decided to leave European football are, for instance, that he is not fit enough any more. In addition, he wants to settle down with his family in a more peaceful and relaxed place, in which he won’t have to train as much as here. The last reason may be that he would earn a bigger amount of money in the Arabic countries.
