"Lock and key"

Autor: Sarah Dessen
Synopsis: “Ruby, where is your mother?” Ruby knows that the game is up. For the past few months, she’s been on her own in the yellow house, managing somehow, knowing that her mother will probably never return. That’s how she comes to live with Cora, the sister she hasn’t seen in ten years, and Cora’s husband Jamie, whose down-to-earth demeanor makes it hard for Ruby to believe he founded the most popular networking Web site around. A luxurious house, fancy private school, a new wardrobe, the promise of college and a future—it’s a dream come true. So why is Ruby such a reluctant Cinderella, wary and defensive? And why is Nate, the genial boy next door with some secrets of his own, unable to accept the help that Ruby is just learning to give?
My opinion:
“Lock and Key” is a book written by Sarah Dessen, who is a very popular author among teenagers. This book was published in 2008, and it has been a great success all over the United States.
This moving story really made me hooked until the end, it never gets boring and it suprises you even more when you get to the end. During the plot, many interesting things happen, they are sort of a combination of drama and love story.
At the very beginning when Ruby tells the story of her, being banished by her mum to Cora, it made me think about how hard it is to cope with it. But Ruby, is a very brave person and as soon as she meets the coolest boy of the school she realises that she can be something important in life and someone special to others.
The best thing about this book is its unexpected end which gives you a huge surprise and makes you think about the whole story in a different way.
